Welcome to the Fort: A Guide to Treefort’s Wildest Species

Ahh yes, the Pacific Northwest. A region known for its fleece plaid and denim, its seasonal depression, and its deeply suspicious “Best Places to Live” rankings. But every spring, something shifts. The locals start to stir. The transplants emerge from hibernation. The herd begins to move.

They flock to a modest frontier town: Boise—somewhere between a Wild West movie set and a tech startup’s homepage background—and transform it into a fully functioning biome of weird, hot, culture-hungry chaos.

This phenomenon is known as Treefort Music Fest, and for five glorious days, Boise stops pretending to be normal. Spotted here are four different breeds you might spot out here in the wild.

🪩 The Dream Gurl: Dance Your Night Away

For the Sparkle Demons, Gold-Star Gays, and Girlypops Who Survive on BPM Alone

Maybe you’re fueled by Yerba. Maybe you’re powered by serotonin, glitter, and synthetic wig glue. Either way—if you came to dance, this is your week. Prepare for euphoric sets, late-night DJ magic, and more sequins than a drag brunch in space.

Your Mission Brief:

  • Weds 3/26: Izze Azalea and RahKeeM kick off at Hap Hap with back-to-back DJ sets. Ritual begins.

  • Thurs 3/27: Gelli Haha tears up Neurolux, followed by Empress Of at Treefort Music Hall and BIG SIS at Neurolux (again).

  • Fri 3/28: Remi Wolf headlines Main Stage. Get ready to dance to her feel-good vibes and pop sensibility.

  • Sat 3/29: Sofi Tukker closes Main Stage in full party mode. Then Adelman Building goes feral: Jocelyn Guntar + Jilly.fm at 11PM, CDIGI at 1AM. Bring your A-Game to this double decker party.

  • Sun 3/30: GRRL Rave hits Hap Hap Lounge from 10PM–2AM. No excuses.

Aside from the hot action at Main Stage, you can always wander over to HapHap or Space Banana to keep the party going.

👹The Pit Friend: Hit the Pit and Get Rowdy

For those who MOSSSHHHH till the party gets SHUT DOWN.

You don’t attend Treefort—you bring your all. If the music isn’t loud enough to rattle your bones, it’s not worth your time. You're here for noise, sweat, and collecting a few bruises.

Your Mosh Map:

  • Weds 3/26: Floating Witch’s Head (aka Treefort’s founder with a guitar and vengeance) at Music Hall, Moon Owl’s Mages at Boise Brewing, then Ovlov at Neurolux.

  • Thurs 3/27: Don’t tempt me with a weird time - John Gorbus takes the Shrine, then catch Cigarette Speedway at Neurolux and Jesus Christ Taxi Driver at Cyclops. End with Naked Giants at 12:10AM.

  • Fri 3/28: What a day. Prism Bitch, Be Your Own Pet, and Vexed Vixen bring their unabashed presence to the stage. Get rowdy, but remember your pit etiquette.

  • Sat 3/29: Plum Vision and Nonbinary Girlfriend go back-to-back at Neurolux. Amyl and the Sniffers rev up the Main Stage with major energy.

  • Sun 3/30: End your fest the goth way: Mall Goth Moths at Boise Brewing, and close out your fest with Lasher at Neurolux.

Your best bets for getting into the action are The Shredder and Neurolux. Hang tight and mind your fellow Treeforter.

🦋The Urban Mystic: Groove, Funk, and Hard-Hitting Feelings

For the mystics and laid back 420 crowd. You want to sway with the crowd and really connect to what you’re hearing.

You came to Treefort to feel something. To dance with friends and strangers. To listen to the lyrics and really connect with the sounds.

Your Slow-Burn Itinerary:

  • Weds 3/26: Ethel Rose at Shrine Basement, then Delicate Steve upstairs. Both vibey. Both legal mood enhancers.

  • Thurs 3/27: Porcelain Tongue, Sir Woman, College Level, then Worn-Tin if you’re still upright.

  • Fri 3/28: MUNGO at Music Hall. LOBO LARA at the Bandshell. Then cry-dance to Remi Wolf.

  • Sat 3/29: Fjord People bring jazz-funk to Boise Brewing. Trevor Powers resurrects Youth Lagoon at Main Stage. Finish with This Is Loreli’s genre-jumping sound bath.

  • Sun 3/30: Breeze into the day with La Lom, then hop over to Hinds, McKenna Esteb, and close out with The Other Room There.

Looking for something new? Hang out at the Shrine or Neurolux to stumble onto something new.

🚬The Gay Cowboy: Cigs and Americana

For the urban cowboys, swing dancing drunk aunts, and flannel-wrapped romantics who still believe in harmonies and heartache.

Armed with your bolo tie and vintage Levis — you came to feel something under the string of patio lights. You like your music a little twangy, a little poetic, and just emotionally unstable enough to make you text your ex (or a friend who moved to Portland). Folk, alt-country, psych-Americana, slowcore with slide guitar - it’s all fair game.

Your Sway-and-Sip Schedule:

  • Wed 3/26: John Francis Flynn brings his deep folk to the Shrine. Stick around to catch Jessica Pratt’s moon-washed sound upstairs.

  • Thur 3/27: Vincent Neil Emerson and Shakey Graves take over Main Stage. Catch Hillfolk Noir at the Bandshell, and swing by the Hideout for Richy Mitch & the Coalminers.

  • Fri 3/28:  Card Games plays the Shrine Ballroom. Don’t miss The Ravenna Colt and Merle Law at Pengilly’s, then head back for Frog’s set downstairs.

  • Sat 3/29: Yasmin Williams serves up sweet guitarwork at the Bandshell. Later, Don Hurt and Prairie Blue keep Pengilly’s twangy, with Hudson Powder Company closing at Lost Grove.

  • Sun 3/30:

Lost? Just post up at Penguillys or any of the 5 breweries to feel at home.

This Is Boise, Turned All the Way Up

Every alley, venue, and street corner buzzes with music, movement, and connection. Strangers become friends, and local legends share the stage with global icons. And for five days, Boise throws the kind of party that reminds you why you live here—or maybe makes you wish you did.

Treefort isn’t just a music fest.  It’s Boise, wide awake and fully glowing.
